Infectious Diseases and Microbiology
Infectious diseases are a serious group of illnesses that can develop with acute or prolonged complications, posing life-threatening risks. The diagnosis and treatment services for these diseases, along with microbiological laboratory studies, are carried out by the Infectious Diseases and Microbiology units. There are many types of diseases within the scope of Infectious Diseases and Microbiology. At our hospitals, all diseases caused by microorganisms such as bacteria, viruses, and parasites are diagnosed, treated, and monitored with the latest information and meticulously handled by multidisciplinary teams of expert doctors and healthcare professionals.
In our department, we treat diseases caused by bacteria, viruses, fungi, and parasites, as well as sexually transmitted diseases, HIV, AIDS, hepatitis (liver inflammation), typhoid fever, brucellosis, tuberculosis, and similar conditions. We also treat febrile illnesses, urinary tract infections, flu, diarrhea, respiratory infections, meningitis, encephalitis (infections of the brain and spinal cord), soft tissue infections, diabetic foot infections, food poisoning, intensive care infections, and surgical site infections. In addition to diagnosing and treating these diseases, we provide travel vaccinations, adult immunization (vaccination), and travel medicine consultation services. The Infectious Diseases Unit also works to monitor, control, and minimize hospital-acquired infections, providing education to patients, their relatives, and relevant staff on this matter.
